VetMyCar Terms of Service

Last updated: [date to be added on publish]

These terms govern your use of VetMyCar (vetmycar.co.uk) and its related mobile apps ("the Service"), operated by [business/individual name]. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. What the Service does

  • Free vehicle data, sourced from DVSA's public MOT History API.
  • A free inspection checklist to guide you through checking a used vehicle.
  • A paid Vehicle History Check, sourced from Check Car Details, covering finance, write-off, stolen status, and related data, for a fee shown at the time of purchase.

2. Accuracy of information

VetMyCar aggregates and displays data from third-party sources. We do not create, verify, or guarantee the accuracy or completeness of this data. Treat all information as one input into your decision, not a substitute for your own inspection or an independent professional inspection.

3. Payment and the Vehicle History Check

The price is shown clearly before you pay, and charged via Stripe at the point of purchase.

Once a Vehicle History Check has been generated and delivered to your account, it is non-refundable. This applies including but not limited to: entering an incorrect registration number, the report showing no adverse history, changing your mind after purchase, or the content not matching what you expected. You are responsible for checking the registration number is correct before completing payment.

If a payment is taken but the report genuinely fails to generate due to a technical fault on our end, contact us and we will investigate — this is the only circumstance in which a refund or free re-run may be considered, at our discretion.

Once generated, your report remains accessible in your account (Saved Cars and Account → Purchased Reports) for as long as your account exists, so you can revisit it without paying again.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the Service or violate these terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service unlawfully, scrape or bulk-extract data without permission, resell or republish reports without authorisation, or attempt to interfere with or gain unauthorised access to the Service.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VetMyCar is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, including financial loss connected to a vehicle purchase decision. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

7. Changes to the Service and these terms

We may update the Service and these terms from time to time. We'll post updates here with a new date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
